Pinnacle Engineering, Inc. is seeking an entry level Process Engineer to join our growing team and undertake challenging work on projects related to industrial and manufacturing engineering processes and methods. A successful candidate will have experience in the following areas: PSM (Process Safety Management) – Audit and PHA/DHA (Process / Dust Hazard Analyses) facilitation and participation; permitting and compliance for industrial, manufacturing and renewable energy clients; and water / wastewater analysis. Additionally, a successful candidate will have experience in a plant/production environment, working with a diverse team to troubleshoot production operations, scope, design and implement projects to improve Environmental Health & Safety and production initiatives. Assignments may include working as an individual or within a diverse project team. We have an immediate full-time position available for a Process Engineer with 2 - 4 years of experience within our Industrial Services Group. This position will be based out of our Omaha, NE office. Note: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Assist the Director of Industrial Services in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training
Conduct permitting and compliance related duties for industrial, manufacturing and renewable energy clients
Execute or assist with industrial audits (PSM/PHA) and feasibility studies and industrial/manufacturing site assessments
Manage engineering calculations and technical report writing
Implement process improvement, problem resolution, and project management under guidance of Director of Industrial Services
This position will also be responsible for assisting with business development, proposal and interview preparation, participation in client interviews, coordinating with project and task teams, and working with regulatory authorities.
NOTE: Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. Participation in an OSHA-mandated medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites. Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Other sciences degrees considered based on the quality of experience.
Two to four years of experience related to responsibilities outlined.
Familiarity with air, water and hazardous material requirements, including PSM, PHA, DHA, and water/wastewater.
Working knowledge of regulations within industrial, manufacturing, and/or energy industries.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Previous experience with proposal writing and environmental review document preparation.
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to carry up to 40 pounds and work in conditions that may feature rough terrain.
Professional registration in Nebraska or other Midwest state(s) or ability to complete registration within one year of hiring highly desired
Business development aptitude and experience preferred
Prior experience working in a plant/production environment is a plus
Up to 50% travel expected dependent on project/client needs, work schedules.
Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, and on-site inspections/visits, etc.; Overnight travel may be required.
