FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER – SWITCHGEAR and CONTROLS

This position offers an exciting opportunity within an innovative, growing company, with a backlog of bookings that go beyond 3 years.
WILL RELOCATE for this position to Portland, OR.
In this newly created position, you will be responsible for site project management, hands-on field service work and commissioning of IEM equipment at customer sites primarily on the West Coast. This includes:
- Attending project meetings and coordinating with high profile clients at multiple sites
- Commissioning of switchgear, power products and related control systems.
- Working with systems integrators to facilitate communication with other vendors’ equipment, including but not limited to generators, UPS’s and SCADA systems
- Creating and Maintaining issue tracking logs for multiple sites with multiple pieces of IEM equipment
- Coordinating with our manufacturing facilities to find solutions to product or commissioning issues identified by IEM or reported by the customer in the field
- Working with the Field Service Administrator to help schedule additional field resources or teams to cover service needs
- Performing preventive maintenance, field installations and modifications
- Technical product support and troubleshooting
- Working with project engineers and project managers to select and coordinate the replacement of parts
REQUIREMENTS:
- a technical degree or equivalent and a minimum 3 yrs. of experience working in a field service role working with ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, switchgear highly preferred.
- a willingness to travel (up to 80%), being a team player, having strong communication skills and an ability to work independently without supervision
WOULD BE A PLUS:
- Military experience (electrical equipment)
- Experience with paralleling generator control systems and complex automation or monitoring systems
