Our client located in Northeast Iowa is looking to add a Design Engineer to their team. This individual will be responsible for executing new product project activities and completing tasks associate with those projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Apply electrical and mechanical engineering techniques, analysis skills and Six Sigma design tools to ensure product function and quality.
Act in support or as the program and project team leader ensuring that support of programs and projects are completed in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner and that progress is made within the work group.
Works within work group to develop plans and strategies to support programs and projects for new products to support growth goals.
Apply to CAD layouts customer requirements, project/product specifications, finish requirements and pre-determined.
Support research of materials, supplier’ s capabilities and manufacturing processes.
Lead the preparation of rapid prototypes, assembled models, mockups, support drawings, technical literature, and installation guides.
Represent and support the New Products Mechanical Engineering Manager and Project Engineers.
Prepare design layouts, BOM, CAD models, layout, detail, assembly, support drawings to ensure design intent and completion of product designs.
Complete design layouts, BOM, and drawing content for products recently released.
Responsible for storage of data into Product Data Management system.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering desired
APQP – and tools for design for Six Sigma knowledge preferred
Experience with Creo software and Creo Mechanism and PTC Windchill a plus.
