Tedlar® Production Specialist
The Production Specialist is a key member of our technical support team; bringing operations experience, perspective and knowledge to drive consistency, repeatability and improvement of our production capability. Provides technology support for the daily execution of best practices to grow our competitive advantage and serves as the manufacturing expertise and recognized as the initial point of contact for process troubleshooting. Provides support for the day-to-day operations within the established capability of the asset and leads Operations teams in root cause analysis and problem solving. This position is the liaison between Operations and the senior engineers and will mentor operators and assists in Operations training. The Production Specialist reports directly to the Unit Manager.
This role is located at the Circleville Site, which is approximately 30 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. Circleville is a mutli-business site. In addition to Tedlar® film, the site has units that manufacture Vespel® resin, Kapton® film, and Teflon® film. The Circleville Tedlar® organization is a High-Performance Work System (HPWS) structure, which encourages high levels of engagement and empowerment within the work teams.
Tedlar® is part of the Photovoltaic & Advanced Materials Business.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Provides technical support of day-to-day operations of aligned assets
Works within the both operations and technical team to design and enforce the implementation of solutions to improve processes (safety, yield, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), capacity release)
Identifies and works with the technical team to identify, develop and implement best practices for process(es)
Leads/Supports troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues
Enable and assist in the training of Operators, Mechanics and other MT Engineers to convey the practical application in the field
Recognizes when process is not in control, and take appropriate action to correct
Identifies and implements solutions to manufacturing issues related to operations technology
First technical contact for operations troubleshooting
Drives product by process through execution of manufacturing standard process
Assists in the execution of qualifying new raw materials and product development
Learns the operating process(es) and technology to which assigned
Engages appropriate members of the technical team in the resolution of issues or implementation of ideas
Networks with the senior engineer and the rest of the technical team at an appropriate frequency determined by the team
Drives Key Performance Indicators (KPI) improvement efforts against assigned process improvements
Identifies and implements opportunities to improve the Cost of Manufacturing (COM)

High School Diploma or GED
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to interact, coach and provide guidance to colleagues at all levels
Self-managed / self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Five years minimum manufacturing experience
Technical Degree engineering or science discipline
Tedlar® or other related web film processing experience
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (can be acquired while in role)
Incident Investigation Training (can be acquired while in role)
DPS Expert certification / Lean Manufacturing certification or training
