INTERCON specializes in the design and manufacture of heavy machinery for commercial marine, heavy industry, and defense markets. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help design large commercial marine machinery as well as support manufacturing operations with fixture design, process improvement, and CAD/CAM support. Intercon is an environment where engineers still work closely with shop floor employees throughout the production process. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer who want to be "hands on" with the products they design.
Key Responsibilities
New product design
Drafting in Autodesk Inventor
Detailing Assemblies (both Intercon proprietary and customer products)
Assisting in the development of technical documentation
Manufacturing support and troubleshooting
Field support and troubleshooting both remotely and in-person (10% travel)
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
Required Skills
Proficient in AutoCAD Mechanical and AutoDesk Inventor
Excellent Understanding GD&T
Experience with heavy machinery design
Ability to read/understand mechanical/electrical drawings.
Ability to read/understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to thrive in an environment with changing product mix and manufacturing technology
Desired Skills
Proficient with AutoDesk Vault
Experience with MasterCam
Experience with SigmaNest
Experience with with Robotic Welding offline programming (e.g. Panasonic, IGM, Fanuc)
