Job Responsibilities
The Junior Software Engineer (JSE) is responsible for designing and developing new software and features using some of the latest Microsoft technologies. In this role you will assist in gathering and reviewing requirements, develop a plan, and design and implement software solutions. JSE will work closely with a project team consisting of several developers, business analysts, and quality analysts, under the direction of a project team lead. Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for implementing elements and controls for web-based applications
Develops, codes, tests, maintains and troubleshoots new and existing software
Participates in planning, including the formation of project goals, scope and schedules
Works with business analysts and project stakeholders to collect requirements and design new products and features.
Tests and implements bug fixes in new and existing code.
Participates in framework architecture discussions and planning.
Performs detailed software code reviews with other software developers
Completes documentation for work performed
Follows coding best practices and adheres to team coding guidelines
Assists support analysts in providing application technical support
Serves as a technical resource for development staff and business associates
Provides occasional lectures or trainings to other development staff.
Actively contributes in a team environment as well as work independently
Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For (Nobody's Perfect but Experience is a Plus!)
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Accounting is preferred
Practical experience may be substituted for education
One (1) years of programming experience using Microsoft .NET Framework or .NET Core
One (1) years of experience with HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript
One (1) years of experience with database and database object creation, including tables, stored procedures, and functions. Microsoft SQL is preferred.
Experience reading and understanding SQL server relational database designs and diagrams
Strong interpersonal skills and written communication
Knowledge or understanding of some of the following technologies is preferred:
The ability to analyze requirements, plan and set goals, and follow through to project completion.
A desire and ability to quickly learn new technologies, and share what you have learned with others.
Visual Studio, TFS, Git, JIRA, SSMS,
Angular/React or other web application frameworks
Entity Framework and ADO.NET
