DuPont has a unique opportunity within the Compound Semiconductor business at the Auburn Site in Auburn, MI for an Improvement Engineer to gain broad experience within a small site environment.
Improvement Engineers serve as a vital resource for Operations by providing technical support for business level initiatives while continuously improving process safety and production efficiency. Improvement Engineers lead new part developments from the quotation process thru the successful commercialization of initial orders.
Development and documentation of process technology information
Development and execution of quality, yield, and capacity improvement initiatives
Capital project support
Product scale-ups, transfers, and new product introductions
Safe and reliable manufacture of products that meet performance requirements
Quick and accurate response to business and customer needs
Lead continuous improvement efforts
Lead the new part commercialization process
Seasoned technical professional with 3 - 7 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with parts manufacturing and machining
Ability to analyze data to identify the relationships and develop solutions to complex problems
Ability to balance a "big picture" focus with detailed execution, and determine when to make decisions based on incomplete knowledge/data.
Continuously looks for new ways to improve processes and drive best practices
Ability to work independently, with excellent time management and prioritization skills
The ability to effectively present at both informal and formal settings
Strong collaboration skills within team, department, or other work group situations
Comfortable interacting with external customers

Planning and project management
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials preferred)
