ABOUT THE POSITION:

Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:
Field work such as sediment, soil, groundwater, and stormwater sampling, and collecting processing samples for chemical and biological analyses.
Working on in-water floating research vessels.
Coordination with drilling and sampling contractors and laboratories.
Developing and implementing site assessment and remediation work plans, sampling and analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, and health and safety plans.
Sediment, soil, groundwater, and surface water remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.
Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
Developing task, project, and client management skills.

Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants
Fieldwork: Up to 80%
Overnight travel: Up to 40%

BS degree in engineering, geology, or related field. (required)
Advanced degree in engineering, geology, or related field. (preferred)
At least 1 year of related experience (more preferred) including site investigations, sediment sampling, oversight of drilling and well installation, and other field techniques. (required)
Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental investigations and clean up. (preferred)
Geologist or Engineer In Training or similar type of professional certification in your field, if applicable. (preferred)
Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (valuable)
Experience with Microsoft Office products. (required)
Experience with GIS and databases. (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
