Our client company, headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a leading provider of high efficiency solar cells, solar panels, and composite structural products for satellite and aerospace applications. Our client is the world’s only vertically integrated, end-to-end supplier of satellite solar arrays. Our client’s proven flight heritage, high volume production capability and technology position Them to service the world’s most demanding satellite applications. Since 2001, Their solar cells or panels have supplied primary power to over 480 successful space missions.

BASIC SCOPE / PURPOSE:
Plans, designs and develops hardware, software, semiconductor or telecommunication systems. If 75 percent of the time is spent performing a specific engineering function, use that as a job match.
Job Complexity: Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Contact with others is primarily internal.
Supervision: Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Device design, design implementation, and realization.
Provides support in areas of growth, processing, device packaging, final test, and device applications.
Perform product development activities ranging from product definition to manufacturing acceptance and maintenance.
Identifies nonconformance when they occur and participates in finding the solution to the nonconformance.
Deploys the Quality Management System as it applies to the scope of work.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Travel as required.
To stop any process that threatens the well-being of any SolAero employee.
To initiate Corrective Action when a nonconformance is identified and stop the process when a nonconformance is found.
Other appropriate activities as assigned.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Understanding of design experiments and statistical process control is a plus.
Proven record of optoelectronic device product development
Experience with project management is strongly desired.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BS/BA Degree.
Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
