As members of the engineering team, those in Mechanical Engineer positions at Diakont are responsible for designing new tooling and solutions for customers in the energy industry, specifically nuclear power plants and oil/gas facilities. Areas of design will range from underwater HD video cameras with integrated pan/tilt/zoom control, robotics, non-destructive testing equipment, and instrumentation and control systems. This person will be responsible for creating mechanical parts, drawings and assemblies, and complete integration of custom products and solutions.
Other duties include:
Ensuring on-time execution of project deliverables
Designing static and dynamic mechanical systems of medium complexity
Specifying and sourcing off-the-shelf mechanical components, including fasteners, motors, gears, tools, etc.
Writing assembly instructions, test procedures, and verification and validation reports to company standards, concisely and unambiguously
Leading small to medium size teams of multiple disciplines, including taking ownership one's work
Leading projects of small to medium scope, including ownership of the project engineering schedule
Analyzing specification requirements, and synthesizing project parameters
Performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis for mechanical designs
Participating-in and leading regular design reviews
The Mechanical Engineer role requires someone with impeccable attention to detail and time management skills. We are looking for high-energy and organized professionals who are passionate about the work they do. This position will influence the organization in important ways and enhance the quality and efficiency of the work we do.
We are looking for candidates with a BSME (BS Mechanical Engineering) and practical experience, which can be demonstrated through prior work experience or relevant school and individual projects. At least 3 years of previous mechanical design and analysis experience is highly preferred. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who support Diakont’s vision and are passionate about joining a collaborative and growing team. The ideal candidate will display strong knowledge of SolidWorks and have a firm grasp on GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
