We are currently in search of a Associate Process Engineer (Injection Molding) to join our Operations department of the Marquardt Group in our location Cazenovia (USA).

Associate Process Engineer (Injection Molding) at Marquardt Switches, Inc.:

The Associate Process Engineer (Injection Molding) is responsible for performing activities related to the implementation, maintenance, programming and continuous improvement of injection molding processes required to support new and existing products. Implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and affect greater utilization of labor and materials.

Essential Responsibilities:
Motivate and train molding technicians and operators ensuring appropriate directions, training, and evaluation
Assist and provide guidance for mold changeovers
Troubleshoot molding process, tooling, and machine setup
Maintain and update necessary documentation related to injection molding process, mold tool, and machine maintenance
Program robot and ancillary equipment
Review Production operation data and resolve technical processing issues when needed
Evaluate and optimize the injection molding process
Work closely with tool room for maintenance of molds, development of end of arms tool, and fixtures when needed
Design, develop, and conduct ongoing analyses of products and processes to improve the integration of people, materials, and equipment
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, and improve efficiency
Research solutions to technical problems and recommend cost effective resolution approaches
Oversee and maintain production schedule
Participate in continuous improvement projects
Enforce and follow safety rules
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field
3-5 years related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Proven knowledge of setting up new molds and processes for various polymers
Proven knowledge of various polymers and their behavior in injection molding process
Mathematical skills needed for scientific molding and various calculations needed
Advanced computer skills
Proficient verbal communication skills, including group presentation
Proven knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes and production equipment
Proven knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and manufacturing quality tools
Basic management skills, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, and project management
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees
Ability to prepare reports and other documents
Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions

Travel:
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for extended periods
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 lbs
Ability to use close vision, color vision, and depth perception for extended periods
