Programmer and Product support for Development / Production

Optimum Instruments Inc. is a small electronics company in the Concrete and mobile communication industries. With an position that has a great variety to keep the job exciting. The successful candidate will be involved in product, firmware, Software development, Prototype assembly and assist in technical support for the electronic products produced by the company. The standard work day for this position is eight hours per day and 40 hours per week

  • Experience with computer programming.
  • Embedded firmware development experience (C, assembler)
  • OOP .NET development experience (C++, C#, JavaScript)
  • Graduate of a diploma program in programming or Electronics Technologist/ Computer Engineering Technologist
  • Computer literacy is essential for the role, so candidates will need to be experienced with Windows XP/7/10 and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Experience with setting up, programming and operating electronics small CNC Router
  • Good electronic soldering skills
  • Hands-on experience in electronics assembly
  • Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
  • Write technical manuals and develops schematics to describe and illustrate system operating characteristics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate effectively with all disciplines at all levels of the company
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage their time effectively
  • Personal growth potential that can keep pace with the expanding needs of the company and the business
  • A valid driver’s license

Additional assets

  • Experience with field support would be an asset
  • Familiar with Windows, Linux, PHP, and databases
  • Hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform, the entity model, security model, and Web services.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Resco Mobile CRM and the Woodford customization tool.
  • Hands-on experience architecting solutions that involve CRM customization to include server-side code, custom business logic, integration modules, workflow assemblies and plug-ins
  • JavaScript/HTML design development experience

Programming Skills:

  • .NET Development / MVC / C# / C
  • HTML / CSS / JS


  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or in another discipline with a significant programming component or completion of a college program in computer science
