The R&D Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support in the creation and development of new outdoor equipment products and existing products. Will work close with our Product and Marketing departments.
Researches, develops, designs and evaluates outdoor gear materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality
Assist in developing new concepts from initial design to market release
Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development
What you need to know and what will make you successful…
Bachelor’s of Science degree in relevant engineering field
2-5 years of related work experience with good understanding of outdoor equipment/gear
Designing tools experience/knowledge: CAD, etc
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels in the company
Ability to collaborate cross functionally
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience in outdoor equipment industry highly preferred.
Candidates must be flexible, enjoy collaboration, be well organized, self-directed, and have the ability to multitask with attention to detail. Willingness to take ownership and work independently under tight deadlines is a must.
This position is based in our Palmer, AK location, with minimal travel to the Anchorage and Fairbanks locations.
