The Perdue NOC is responsible for monitoring and managing the network. This position is necessary to monitor, detect, analyze, trouble-shoot and resolve network outages. This person will report issues and follow escalations procedures for both internal and vendor escalations.
This position resides at the Perdue Corporate Headquarters in Salisbury, MD.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, analyzing and troubleshooting of all systems within Customer’s Infrastructure including LAN/WAN, and telecommunications systems.
This is a highly accessible, high availability, fast paced and business critical 24x7 environments. The NOC functions are accomplished by using monitoring tools (i.e., OpsRamp, Cherwell, APC StruxureWare, Cisco VManage etc.) relative to the activities across the Enterprise, knowledge of or having work with these tools would be preferred.
A key responsibility includes the effective and accurate communication, both oral and written, of initial problems with timely follow-through on fault isolation progress, appropriate escalations and final resolution reporting. Communications paths include users, peers, management and customers and associated vendor trouble reporting systems.
Actively support the Quality Improvement Process (QIP) and demonstrate commitment through the use of its concepts (teambuilding, Zero Defects, etc.) and tools (measurement, process models, ECR, etc.)
Maintain and support a fully functional network that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Update and maintain the ongoing network documentation, Visio, MOP's.
Create and maintain documentation for technical procedures for established positions.
Associates Degree and 2-4 years of progressive networking experience is required. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Math or relevant field is higly preferred. Candidates without a degree but holding the equivalent years of work experience will be considered. Candidates with an Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience will be considered.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A knowledge or experience in switched 10/100 Ethernet, WAN switching (Cisco), Wireless (Cisco Aironet), QOS, Firewalls (Cisco ASA), VoIP, Routers (Cisco), WAN transmission technologies (SDWAN, High Speed Ethernet, LTE), remote troubleshooting, Protocols: TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS
Currently working towards or have obtained networking certifications a plus (CCNA, Net+, A+).
Candidate must be able to work the Work Team schedules as required by the position.
5 day a week work schedule (Monday-Friday)
On Call support of network will be required on a rotational basis. On call includes holiday schedule, the candidate is expected to work if their shift alls on the holiday, The on call is in support of the 24/7/365 environment of the Surveillance and support to the business.
NOC experience is preferred
