Junior Software Developer (Contract Position) -Fredericton
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, goal-oriented Information Technology Junior Software Developer to assist in the development of software to support our new IT systems being developed to support the Commission's regulatory functions. This position will have an exciting variety of responsibilities, including:
Assist in the design, development, configuration and customization of FCNB's in-house applications, primarily using Microsoft Dynamics supported technologies;
Assist in needs and information gathering for new IT projects, and where appropriate and able, assist in development and testing of new software and systems.
Provide technical support for staff and clients concerning in-house applications;
Assist in creating documentation for in-house applications;
Provide limited technical support for Staff for other systems (Smart Board, Meeting software, some general troubleshooting and PC/laptop/printer setup).
This position reports to the Chief Information Officer.
You possess post-secondary training in Computer Science. Prior experience working on IT system development projects from start to finish is an asset, but not required. You have a solid understanding of object oriented programming principles (.NET preferred) and good technical knowledge of desktops, Windows OS, Office and related hardware/software. The successful candidate will receive training in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and ADXstudio).
You have excellent organizational and communication skills and a strong ability to effectively and clearly document software. You have the ability to analyze and resolve logical and technological issues; an aptitude for explaining technical concepts and language for use by lay audiences; ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and the ability to work on outcome focused projects involving deadlines.
Other qualifications include:
Familiar with SQL databases and a solid understanding of database design principles.
Familiarity with software versioning software.
Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract, renewable at the Commission's option.
