The Integrator is responsible for the estimating, designing, programming, and commissioning of various industrial projects using both established legacy equipment and new, cutting edge technology. Design includes knowledge of drafting software, applicable codes and standards, efficient design practices, and current devices. Programming will be accomplished with multiple PLC and HMI platforms, using primarily ladder logic, but may include any of the IEC standard programming languages. Commissioning includes supervising installation and troubleshooting of projects to ensure proper functionality and customer satisfaction.
The Integrator is a proven control systems professional capable of understanding a project’s scope, goals, and underlying technical requirements. The Integrator is expected to balance a client’s needs and expectations, the project budget and schedule, and the technical execution of the project to consistently achieve technical project success.
The Integrator is a professional, and as such is expected to maintain a current knowledge of the skills required to successfully execute their responsibilities. The Integrator should maintain a current technical skill-set through memberships in technical and industry based organizations, reading trade publications, attending seminars, formal classroom training or any other means necessary. Tangible demonstration of professional development is a requirement at annual reviews.
Integration Engineer III is a senior level position that demonstrates leadership abilities and extensive knowledge of the technology and practices related to our field. Level III will be responsible for supervising other personnel to accomplish projects in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
The Integrator is responsible for the following:
Design control systems through interpretation of customer-supplied control descriptions, interviews with clients and owners, analysis of system mechanical requirements and any other means necessary to create a functional software design.
Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code in any of the 5 IEC standard languages (focus on ladder logic).
Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing HMI interfaces.
Program clean, professional looking interfaces on a variety of platforms.
Work with other project team members as needed to successfully share programming responsibilities as required.
Design software to support thorough, systematic, in-house testing prior to on-site commissioning.
Thoroughly test system software prior to exposure to the client.
Provide on-site system commissioning support as required.
Maintain a current technical skill-set through any means necessary including reading, attending seminars, formal classroom training, project experience, etc. Tangible demonstration of professional development is a requirement at annual reviews.
Ability to instruct and guide CLX Engineering personnel in both new and legacy practices and devices.
Occasional travel of approximately, but not limited to, 30%.

Four year degree from an accredited college in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline or 7 years of successful programming experience.
Ability to quickly understand complex applications.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Competent to expert level PLC programming skills in all IEC standard automation programming languages.
Thorough understanding of at least one major PLC hardware platform including Rockwell Allen-Bradley (preferred).
Modicon, GE or Siemens.
Thorough understanding of at least one major HMI software platform including Rockwell FTView (preferred).
Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell RSView SE or GE Proficy.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
Competent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to supervise CLX Engineering and vendor personnel.
Ability to handle numerous projects at one time.
Ability to spend extended times in an industrial environment (possibly of heat, dirt, noise or olfactory).
Ability to use hand tools.
If not already certified, attain Wonderware Certified Developer status within first year of employment.
