We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Civil Engineer-in-Training in our St. John's office.
Assistance to project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure related to water supply, sewers, roads, land development site servicing and waste management
Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff
Contribution to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations
Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Business travel to client locations and/or other Dillon offices for the purposes of executing your responsibilities, internal/external client relationship development, opportunity/project research, acquisition and project delivery
A degree in civil engineering
Registration as an engineer-in-training with the Professional Engineers of Newfoundland, or be eligible within six months
One to two years’ work experience in engineering, although entry level staff will also be considered
Experience in engineering for municipalities and/or the land development industry will be considered an asset
Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers and watermains
Understanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration
Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D/Land Desktop software will be considered an asset
Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements
Strong oral and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
