ABB Inc. is seeking two Associate Project Engineers for its Houston, TX or Cleveland, OH location. This position will be responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving DCS and its respective HMI. The candidate must have proven experience in DCS logic and programming. This position will be responsible for all aspects of a project including creating and reading logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, HMI, simulation, testing and start-up.
Work as part of an integrated design team to meet project requirements and deliverables.
Consider safety to be the most important responsibility.
Work with Client to understand details of the process to be controlled.
Conduct reviews of application design with Client and ABB project team to ensure that the control requirements have been captured correctly.
Implement the control application code using ABB or 3rd party process automation engineering tools.
Develop simulation and graphics.
Complete testing of the new control application.
Travel for Client meetings and onsite commissioning activities (totaling 1-2 months per year, Domestic and International travel).
Train Client resources on developed control applications.
Provide onsite commissioning and startup coverage to help troubleshoot any issues with the new applications.
Bachelors' degree in chemical or electrical engineering
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5% of the time
