The Junior Developer codes, tests, debugs, and troubleshoots new and existing applications as part of an Agile Scrum team, to meet business requirements. The Junior Developer will work to help the team improve in methods and processes.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for development, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of a wide variety of web-based and mobile applications per application requirements and process flow.
Write functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects.
Assists in application design to solve business problems.
Follow an Agile development methodology based on Scrum, in a multi-team environment.
Develop new applications, as well as modifying and maintaining existing software.
Write clean, scalable code and related unit tests using .NET programming languages.
Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
Troubleshoot application and system issues.
Interact with technical teams to define requirements and develop solutions.
Work with IT Team on project priorities and deliverable timelines.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
0-2 years of experience coding in C#/.Net/SQL using Visual Studio.
Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
Familiarity with Xamarin mobile development, Test-Driven Development, and/or Drupal websites a plus.
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks.
Excellent analytical skills, good problem-solving and critical thinking ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills providing support to internal and external customers.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
Superior collaboration skills and desire to truly be a team player.
Embody a passion for continuous improvement and test-driven development.
Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
There is a minimal risk of injury. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average over 40 hours a week. May require some additional hours as workload demands.
