Position Overview:
We have an opening for a Designer reporting to the Engineering Manager based out of our Wyomissing location. This individual will be responsible for generating electrical wiring and physical drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation. These drawings show the physical arrangement of panels or substation layouts and associated electrical circuitry.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions are the tasks, duties and responsibilities that are critical to the job; the employee must be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Generate and/or revise schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, physical equipment assembly drawings and layout drawings from engineer/designer sketches or marked-up drawings.
Assist engineers and/or designers in drawing retrieval, plotting, running prints, scanning, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Certified training or 2 years of experience using AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
Ability to read electrical drawings.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to follow direction and procedures.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Detail oriented.
Ability to do limited travel and work extra hours as required.
Ability to obtain typical security clearances that are often required in utility, transportation and government facilities.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Associate’s Degree in CAD Drafting Practices or related field.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.).
