We are looking for a product engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. This role is perfect for engineers early in their career, including new graduates. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply knowledge from many engineering disciplines, including product design, test design, manufacturing, and failure analysis.
Within our team, your responsibilities will span prototyping, creating engineering drawings, design validation, failure analysis, and more. This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn how a product gets built from beginning to end.
We work best with excellent communicators who are able to fluently collaborate with a cross functional, geographically-distributed team.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to:
Design 3D models of mechanisms and drafting 2D documentation of parts and assemblies
Building physical models to evaluate functionality, manufacturability, and robustness
Design & perform tests to validate concepts & pre-production devices
Root cause analysis
B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Design using SolidWorks, ability to generate 3D models and detail 2D drawings for manufacturing
Ability to execute product test plans, summarize results and present findings to a team
Self-motivation to identify and drive resolution on design issues across multiple projects
The ability to articulate design issues in quantitative terms both verbally and with documentation
A passion for functional design and an appreciation for detail
Bonus points if you have any of the following:
Hands-on experience building physical objects using prototyping tools (3D printing, CNC)
Experience executing and documenting tests for product reliability and performance
Experience designing for plastic injection-molding
Demonstrated provide engineering drawing detail and product revision, knowledge of geometric tolerancing
Full-time or internship experience in medical devices, consumer devices, health, & biology
