EfficiencyOne is looking for an Engineer or Engineering Technologist to be a part of our Engineering team, focusing on energy modeling to help our clients manage their current (and future) energy use. The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of energy analysis techniques, particularly around energy modeling and building science. Preference will be given to experience with non-residential applications and/or multi-unit residential.
Day-to-Day duties typically include:
Analyze new construction projects using industry standard energy modeling software (e.g. CanQuest/eQuest, IES VE, HAP, etc.);
Ability to perform energy modeling simulations on a variety of commercial/non-residential buildings, along with multi-unit residential and/or combined use buildings;
Familiarity with energy modeling to NECB 2015 Part 8 Standard;
Working cooperatively with participants, partners and other external parties to achieve the goals of their projects and the overall Custom Program;
Proactively manages work on multiple concurrent projects;
Within an area of specialty, provides our customers and partners with technical guidance and feedback on energy efficiency projects;
Provides technical expertise to internal clients where required. (i.e. analysis, technical reviews, evaluations);
Completes measurement and verification of energy saving measures after the project is executed;
As part of the larger custom team, forecasts energy targets and incentives based on current and past results;
Assists with contract development and administration, and ensures compliance with established regulations; and
Assists with the follow through on evaluator and verifier recommendations for program.

To be qualified for this role you hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or diploma in Engineering Technology, with 3-4 years’ work experience in the energy modeling field. Other equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience may be accepted. You combine a positive attitude and strong work ethic with excellent organizational and communication skills. Additionally, you are flexible and have above average attention to detail combined with the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You have the proven ability to learn new processes quickly and multitask under strict deadlines. A driver’s license valid in Nova Scotia is required.
