Product Engineer

The Product Engineer owns the design product structure and architecture from cradle to grave, requiring high visibility across all functional groups throughout the organization. This is a key role in developing the vision and roadmap for the product of the future to meet customer needs with the lowest cost of ownership and the highest quality.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Lead and define product structure of counterbalance products in order to main the vision of optimization of engineering, manufacturing and assembly for new and current product development programs.
Facilitate migration of engineering product structures into other product development and production systems through leading accurate integrations of the program options and engineering documentation.
Coordinate and execute virtual builds with Design, Manufacturing and other departments.
Apply virtual build tools and processes to assist in assembly sequence studies.
Identify and propose continual process improvements for efficiency in product structure systems and procedures.
Approve system and component products structures of units defined by product development programs.
Coordinate with other product architects to define option compatibility and minimize option complexity.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field AND 3+ years of degreed experience in design, analysis and truck architecture.
Knowledge of power train, drive train, motors and controllers, cooling, steering, frame axels, tires and brakes with respect to mechanical, hydraulic and electrical design principles.
Proficient in CAD modeling, engineering analysis and design layouts; Pro E/Creo experience preferred.
Experience in manufacturing methods and truck assembly sequence.
Familiarity of Engineering standards, part and record systems such (i.e. Core, Agile).
Understand the forklift industry applications and truck options.
Ability to leverage software applications to solve problems and work within a product structure database.
Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail, exceptional organization skills and the ability to manage workload and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group, and the ability to influence others.
Advanced computer literacy, including data analysis, project planning and presentations.

Work Environment

Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
