AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Junior Geotechnical Engineer for employment in the Clifton, NJ office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

+ Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

+ Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

+ Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

+ Identifies discrepancies in results.

+ Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision

+ Participate in field assignments that will include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing); geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; and inspection of the construction of geotechnical structures (earth retaining structures, deep foundations, dams, tunnels, and shallow foundations).

+ Under supervision, design dikes, dams, shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement, embankments, and cut slopes/

+ Analyze laboratory and field testing results and select geotechnical design parameters.

+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
