Martin UAV is actively building a team of world-class engineers to develop revolutionary unmanned aircraft systems technologies.
Martin UAV is seeking a first rate qualified Aerospace or Mechanical Engineer to join the team in development, test and initial production efforts for a VTOL UAV. The successful candidate will work closely with aerospace, mechanical and manufacturing engineers. The ideal candidate should be able to contribute broadly but will be primarily responsible mechanical design and production development.
Skills and Experience
o Experience with aircraft fabrication, assembly, or modification
o Experience in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD
o Strong background in MATLAB
o Knowledge of the aircraft design process, aircraft flight dynamics and control systems
o Experience with drawing setup, scale usage, dimensioning, labeling and plotting within a 2D and 3D environment
o Composite design and tooling
o Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
o An inventive aptitude, balanced with discipline and attention to detail
o Ability to coordinate the release and update of engineering design documentation, bills of materials, manufacturing procedures, product acceptance test procedures, and production tooling and test equipment.
o Background in 3D printing
o Experience with LabVIEW
o Experience with FEM modeling of loads and structural elements
o Experience with CFD modeling of aircraft and subsystems
o Experience designing tooling and fixtures for carbon composite assembly manufacturing
o Experience with production manufacturing techniques for aerospace
o Experience generating production documentation based on designs personally overseen
o Understanding of GD&T
o Experience in design and fabrication of mechanical/mechatronic components
o Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
o Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
o Strong customer service, quality, and team orientation
o Commitment to continuous improvement of knowledge, skills and abilities
· Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
· 0-5 years of work experience in aerospace or related field
· There is a possibility of having to deploy for periods of time.
