The Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC) has evolved into a highly integrated operation with multiple facilities operating major process equipment and process lines for waste and recyclables.

Project Coordination
Support projects that have a focus on major mechanical components and participate as a mechanical resource for the Technical Services project teams
Review mechanical engineering drawings to ensure the mechanical specifications and requirements are met
Assist in project management during the planning, design and construction stages

Technical
Optimize the mechanical equipment using mechanical engineering principles to increase production and operational efficiency, resolve processing problems and support maintenance needs
Provide mechanical engineering and technical support to existing waste processing facilities to improve operations with regard for production, efficiency and maintenance, all within given cost and time constraints

Research and Development
Conduct research and feasibility studies of potential projects regarding waste processing
Review performance data and correspondence with vendors and facility operators to determine compatibility

Qualifications :
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
Membership with APEGA as an Engineer - in - Training (EIT)
Experience/knowledge in mechanical equipment design, construction and maintenance
Experience/knowledge in project management
Knowledge of applicable codes and standard practices within mechanical discipline and general knowledge of industrial plant practices
Experience/knowledge in contractor supervision and administration, performing engineering studies and data analysis
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Strong communication and facilitation skills to deal with the highly diverse audiences involved
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines
Expertise with Microsoft Office / Google Applications

Salary: $58,848 - $84,075 (Annually)
