Hyundai-Aptiv Autonomous Driving Joint Venture
The Hyundai-Aptiv Autonomous Driving Joint Venture develops world class production-ready autonomous driving systems. The joint venture leverages Hyundai Motor Group’s design, engineering, and manufacturing expertise and Aptiv’s autonomous driving solutions to commercialize an SAE Level 4 platform for robotaxi providers, fleet operators, and automotive manufacturers.
Headquartered in Boston, the Hyundai-Aptiv Autonomous Driving Joint Venture has operations in the US and Asia. An official name for the new joint venture will be unveiled soon!
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The Safety Mechanism Test Engineer for Autonomous Drive (AMoD) will be responsible for developing and executing the functional test plans for autonomous drive vehicles and systems. This highly motivated individual will work in tight conjunction with the systems, safety, and development teams as a member of the validation organization.
What You'll Do:
Develop test scenarios that use simulation tools to validate autonomous vehicle behavior at a high level.
Analyze vehicle system and sensor data from autonomous vehicle operation to identify issues and areas of test.
Use automated simulation test tools and analyze test results in order to track down and report technical issues
Collaborate with Simulation engineers, product managers and Vehicle Validation engineers to understand features, refine testing plans and resolve issues.
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans
Develop scripts, tools, and processes to facilitate automated test execution and data analyses.
Provide fast, accurate, detailed, and actionable reports on the state of the software under test
Facilitate the resolution of technical issues by working with developers to identify and solve problems
What You'll Bring:
Education: BS in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of testing and/or V&V work experience on complex systems required
Experience with the usage of Simulation Tools
Passion for building relationships with other teams while effectively providing feedback on their work
Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to balance and prioritize multiple diverse tasks
Comfortable working in fast paced dynamic projects
Good communication and teamwork skills
Language Skills: Fluent in English required (oral and written)
Education: MS in Engineering
Experience in autonomous or complex vehicle engineering projects
Experience in setting up and testing on SIL and/or Simulation test systems.
Preferable experience in validating sensors (radar, camera and lidar).
Develop methods for simulating traffic, pedestrians, & other actors within a simulation tool.
Experience in MATLAB, SIMULINK, Python, and/or dSPACE VEOS tool chain.
Experience working with Unix/Linux systems
Knowledge automotive industry standards, robotics, and/or ADAS systems
Knowledge of Functional Safety Standards
Strong background in Systems Engineering and/or formal testing of complex systems
Experience using various programming languages for engineering data analysis with specific codes including MATLAB, C++, Python, or similar languages.
Experience running reduced DOF vehicle dynamics simulations with tools such as VI-CarRealTime, CarSim, CarMaker
Experience creating, manipulating, & scripting virtual worlds.
