Position Description:
Darigold is seeking an experienced Butter Equipment Mechanic Manager to be a part of Darigold’s Caldwell team. The Butter Equipment Mechanic Manager must possess the desire and ability to manage the maintenance and repair for all butter processing equipment in the Plant. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing and implementing a plan to support necessary maintenance of butter processing equipment in a plant that operates 24/7. The Butter Equipment Mechanic Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager and Engineering Manager, along with Quality and Safety. This position reports to the Plant Manager but will require cross-functional communication with a variety of Plant and Corporate team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

Plan, coordinate, and execute planned maintenance of butter equipment to facilitate improved reliability, efficiency, and attainment to scheduled (OEE).
In the event of unplanned downtime, this role will troubleshoot, coordinate internal partners and external vendors, and communicate impact to a cross-functional team.
Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all butter processing equipment.
Oversee critical spare parts inventory for all butter processing equipment and work with procurement to order necessary parts to support maintenance, with sufficient lead time.
Work with external vendors and internal support resources to develop and implement Operator and Maintenance training, to improve run rates and avoid equipment damage.
Support and ensure necessary training to new and existing mechanics and operators.
Support Darigold Performance System (DPS) pillars, including but not limited to Daily Team Maintenance (DTM), Preventative Maintenance (PM), and Safety.
Travel as needed to support equipment installations, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and training.
Manage a safe working environment for all maintenance personnel.
Maintain plant quality performance standards, assuring compliance with all HACCP, FMSA standards in alignment with maintenance practices.
Support all regulatory requirements and audits.
Work with Corporate and Plant Engineering to oversee Capital Expenditure items.
Supervise maintenance engineers ensuring collaborative relations with operations.
Ensure integration of maintenance, process controls and operations
Deliver maintenance programs with an emphasis toward OEE based performance and industry KPI standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Dairy, beverage, packaging, or process industry background required.
Experience maintaining industry standard butter packaging and processing equipment preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with butter processing, fluid dairy processing, and mechanical systems.
Must have schedule flexibility to work during emergency situations, weekends, and off shifts as necessary.
Prior experience managing in a 24/7 environment is a plus

Education, Experience and Certifications

Dairy, specifically Butter processing experience
5-10 years of experience in maintenance or a closely related role.
Supervisory experience 3-5 years
Experience in a capital project – handling vendors and contractors
Experience in Microsoft Office
Experienced with Continuous Improvement (CI) system
