Microchip is searching for an Engineer I - Product to be part of the Secure Products Group Business Unit located in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate placed in this position will be focused on developing new cryptographic security devices for customers in multiple markets, including: IoT, Automotive, Consumer, Aerospace/Defense and Data Center to name a few.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Develop validation and test plan documentation based on datasheets and customer use cases to reach a production worthy device.
Specify and design test environments including: Software requirements, Lab equipment requirements, Test board designs, Scripting to automate test cases
Perform lab-based post-silicon validation data collection then distill, interpret, document and summarize the results in written reports.
Work with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Applications Engineering to validate and debug new silicon products.
BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Working knowledge of electronics lab equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer)
Experience with electrical circuit debug.
Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently as part of a global multi-disciplinary team.
LabVIEW, Perl, or Python experience in working with automated test environments.
Programming experience and ability to learn new languages.
IC Device Characterization.
Familiarity with schematic design and PCB layout and prototyping concepts.
Peripherals Interfaces: SPI, I2C.
