About the Role:
We have an opportunity to join the Urology/Pelvic Health Sustaining R&D Group. This role supports our high powered surgical lasers (Capital Equipment), and has great growth potential.
This role is based in Arden Hills Minnesota, and includes significant travel to San Jose California during the first 3 months.
Your Responsibilities to Include:
Support and successfully contributes to project teams and through the following activities: design change assessments, test of materials (proof of concept and design verification), and failure investigations.
Works cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on projects of varying complexity to ensure project success. Responsible for engineering documentation.
Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
Supports solutions to a variety of problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.
Assists in troubleshooting on products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
Engages with internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. Uses diplomacy and tact in interactions and problem solving.
Translates customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
Trains technicians/operators on new processes and/or test procedures
Supports concepts and designs for new products/processes and submits idea disclosures.
Applies the Product Development Process (PDP) and Product Life Cycle Process (PLCP) methodologies.
Designs, procures, and fabricates tooling and fixtures.
Other Duties as Assigned.
What we’re looking for :
Bachelor's degree in: Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or related field
Strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of design control methods such as risk analysis (dFMEA, pFMEA)
Design verification experience (ability to create verification plans, protocols and reports)
Familiarity with the PDP/PLCP and BSC Quality system
Travel up to 25% domestically (more in first 3 months)
