TMR Inc. seeks a Network Engineer to support our client in Fort Hood TX. This Candidate must understand use and configuration of network routers, access control lists, firewalls, and virtual private networks.

Implement, configure, analyze and support the internal and external data communications systems which include the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
Install and configure network hardware and peripherals. Interact with external support vendors.
Day-to-day administration and support of firewalls and primarily CISCO base network switches, routers and network appliances.
Monitors network performance, determining whether adjustments should be made and making suggestions for improvements.
Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades and daily operation of network hardware.
Support network disaster recovery operations.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems. Coordinate and support incident management with vendors for remediation of outages and equipment failures.
Maintain integrity and relevance of network management and monitoring tools.
Develops and maintains network environment documentation.
Implement and maintain network systems security requirements as dictated by enterprise security policies.
Perform routine maintenance, upgrades and administrative duties as required. Coordinates with vendors on server hardware for maintenance and warranty work.
Work network trouble calls outside of normal duty hours.

Perform other duties as required, which may include:
Accomplishing assigned tasks in closely related fields.
Responding to changes in work schedules, and off-hour call-ins.
Participating in formal, on-the-job, and cross-training
BS/BA in computer science or related discipline.
Four years' experience in systems administration experience in a network environment may be substituted.
Experience in network and/or computer operations and experience in systems administration.
Must possess thorough understanding of computer networks, information security, telecommunications procedures and 802.1x network environment.
Must understand use and configuration of network routers, access control lists, firewalls, and virtual private networks. Must possess Security +. MCITP/SA and CCNA Certifications are desirable.
