Paul Downs Cabinetmakers is looking for an engineer with Autocad and CAM experience. Our shop produces custom woodwork for a demanding, high profile clientele. Woodworking knowledge is a plus but not essential. You will be working closely with a team of superb craftspeople. If you’re smart, imaginative, and detail oriented, you’ll do fine.
Our company is all about respect for good work and good workers. Would you like to see your ideas put into production immediately? Would you like to work on new challenges every day? Would you like to spend your days with people who care about their work? Would you like a no-drama environment? Do you want to work with a team that gets along with each other? Don’t you wish that management would treat you like an adult? Do you want above average pay, health insurance, flex time, pension plan, and paid vacation days? Do you want an easy commute? Are you tired of paying Philadelphia wage tax?
2 or more years of Autocad experience required. Experience in any kind of custom production environment, and/or any CAM software a plus. We use Mastercam for our CAM. We’ve found that experience with Solidworks or similar programs is an excellent start for this job. We would also consider a person with architectural experience who would like to work in a woodshop.
To apply: email us your resume. You will be judged on the quality of your resume, so don't forget to check for typos. Include 3 references. If you are called for an interview, you will be given a short test that has sections on basic math, drafting, and plan reading.
$25/hour or more for the right candidate. Plenty of overtime available.
