As part of Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T), the Next Gen Composite team is responsible for developing and maturing materials, processes, and applications for fiber reinforced polymer matrix composites. We develop unique capabilities that provide performance, cost, and rate benefits and revenue generating opportunities for our Boeing business partners (Boeing Defense & Space, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, and Boeing Global Services) and government customers (Air Force, Navy, Army, Marines, and NASA).

We are currently seeking a new Team Leader to lead a diverse team of highly trained and multi-skilled engineers. In this role, the candidate will serve as their teams' interface to Boeing Defense and Space, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Global Services, government agency customers, domestic and international industrial consortium's, collaborative partner/supplier companies, technology organizations, and academia. This candidate will participate in strategic planning activities to establish technology road-maps related to the development and utilization of critical materials and processes for production, prototype, and aerospace support applications. To achieve these goals, you will be responsible for hiring, training, and developing your team to ensure they are developing the skill set and expertise required to meet the current and future needs of The Boeing Company.

Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines.
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of engineering experience
1+ years of experience in managing a team or as a technical lead
1+ years of experience developing/maintaining team schedules, resource management, risk management, and project management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master's or PhD
Experience collaborating or working with government customers, suppliers, universities, national labs, etc.
Structural design experience
Composites Manufacturing experience
