A Site Safety & Health Officer coordinates and administers Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities at Weeks Marine project locations in accordance with Company and regulatory guidelines.
Essential Job Functions
Develop and implement safety policies at project sites
Conduct various training sessions at job sites and aboard vessels
Assist management in conducting incident investigations, including root cause analysis
Create “Lessons Learned” from root cause analysis materials
Perform other related duties as required
Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environment
5+ years industry safety experience (4 years if holding a 3rd party, nationally accredited (ANSI or National Commission for Certifying Agencies-NCAA) SOH-related certificate.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Sciences are only required to have 4 years of experience.
Industry experience, as defined by The Corps of Engineers, for Site Safety and Health Officers
Complete a 30-Hour OSHA course within 3 years of application
Completed 24-hours of formal safety training in addition to the OSHA 30 and CPR, within the past 4 years
Experience or Training as a Competent Person (CP) in fall protection, lock-out, and confined space entry is desirable
Basic knowledge of cranes and rigging preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to work 17 days on, 11 days off
This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language
Required Certifications or Licenses
CPR/FA/AED responder’s card
TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Valid US Passport
Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels
Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders that have capacity limits of 300 lbs.
Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted
