Position purpose:
Develop, improve, and manage capacity of molding processes and equipment used in the manufacture of intraocular lenses (IOLs).

Major accountabilities:
1. Develop, maintain, improve, and qualify molding and inspection processes for use in the manufacture and inspection of IOLs.
2. Manage molding capacity and efficiency through process improvements and the fabrication, purchase, and qualification of new equipment.
3. Lead technical personnel to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair molding equipment.
4. Contribute as team member on major programs and/or manage small scale projects.

Key performance indicators:
Manufacturing yield (molding related defects),
Project outcomes (functional, on time, within budget),
Production process and equipment performance – quality of support (uptime, improvements, resolving repetitive issues),
Customer feedback (production and other team members,
Quality and accuracy of documentation – work is clear, concise, accurate, in compliance with company and regulatory requirements (protocols, CCR’s, reports, emails).

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number of years of experience. Excellent knowledge of verbal and written English.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, Plastics) or related scientific discipline.
Experience in project management, injection molding (hot and cold runner, hydraulic and electric), validation, cGMP, technical writing, and supervision.
