Electrical Engineer--Engineer Graduate 2 OR Engineer Senior

We are posting this at both levels, and will fill at the higher level unless no qualified licensed engineers apply.

Provide electrical engineering services for the design of facilities power distribution, lighting, fire and life safety, security, and data/communications systems utilizing sound engineering principles and practice in conformance applicable Codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Engineer Grad 2 qualifications:
All applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited College or University and two years professional level electrical engineering experience in the areas noted below; (a Master's degree may be substituted for one year of the professional experience) plus applicants must have full completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

AND experience in:
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices, construction materials and their uses, electrical methods and design and related architectural, structural and mechanical elements, spatial relationships, mathematical principles, and the ability to perform difficult technical computations and carry out complex oral and written instructions;
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, codes, procedures, and industry standards, with the ability to communicate and translate directives and functions to the project architect, engineers, managers, suppliers and contractors so that the project can successfully be completed;
  • CAD software, spreadsheets and word processing systems;
  • Valid Driver’s license.
Engineer Senior qualifications: Employee must be licensed as a professional Electrical Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design or be able to obtain licensure through reciprocity;

AND experience in:
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices, construction materials and their uses, electrical methods and design and related architectural, structural and mechanical elements, spatial relationships, mathematical principles, and the ability to perform difficult technical computations and carry out complex oral and written instructions;
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, codes, procedures, and industry standards, with the ability to communicate and translate directives and functions to the project architect, engineers, managers, suppliers and contractors so that the project can successfully be completed;
  • CAD software, spreadsheets and word processing systems;
  • Valid Driver’s license.
