About LPT: Founded in 2002, Laser & Plasma Technologies (LPT) is a growing small research and development company focused on innovating and commercializing advanced materials, devices and systems based on lasers, optical sensors, infrared imaging and alternative energy applications. Our primary project focuses on early metallic corrosion detection through paint layers for NAVY aircraft. Other feasibility projects involve laser based corrosion, mitigation and repair techniques and laser based additive manufacturing process monitoring techniques.
LPT is looking for an experienced software engineer, with LabVIEW experience, to design software to control a high tech instrument for an ongoing NASA project. We estimate that the software development will take 80-100 hours and are looking for the software to be completed over 30 days.
Benefits of this position include a flexible work schedule. This work can be completed from home/off-site at the candidates convenience (days/evenings/weekends, etc). We ask that the individual be available for a few hours each week to meet with the PI of our project for feedback, troubleshooting, etc. These onsite meeting will be at LPT's labs, located at the National Institute of Aerospace, and can be scheduled per the convenience of the candidate and availability of the PI.
