The Chemical Process Engineer designs, plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing process improvements in the industrial plant. He/She works with R&D on new product launches and ensures test methods and process capabilities for products meet design requirements and set ups and validates production equipment. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of Chemical Process Manufacturing; knowledge of automation equipment is desirable. He/She will have responsibility over manufacturing cost and reports into policy deployment for variances to manufacturing budget. The ideal candidate will be a charismatic leader with ability to create followership and influence business level decision making. He/She must have strong organizational skills with ability to keep track and manage multiple projects and priorities; possesses creative and innovative solutions to complex problems and possess a strong level of integrity and personal accountability; able to instill same in the team.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIIES:
Keeps production flowing through operations using both short-term and long-term countermeasures.
Implements new technology in operations to improve quality, lead-time, and cost
Uses Lean manufacturing techniques to drive manufacturing efficiencies.
Validates performance of production equipment. Enables changes to improve throughput. Run Design of Experiments.
Preforms process FMEA’s for new product launches and manages implementation of risk counter measures.
Use of A3 process to identify root-cause for quality failures and sets up design of experiments to address root-causes.
Manages overall execution of process in support of quality system and documentation of changes through ECO process.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent preferred).
2-5 years of relevant engineering experience in Chemical Manufacturing Process Optimization.
Expertise with Automation Equipment is a plus.
Experience in process control and quality management systems.
Proven, strong track record of achievement through technical improvements preferably has background working with chemical based production processes
Superior communications skills.
Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies.
Demonstrated proficiency in time management.
