Test, troubleshoot, and as directed, repair and modify customer repair and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as computer equipment, and test equipment applying principles and theories of electronics, electronics circuitry, and electronic systems testing.
Test electronic units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
Receive training and maintain certifications for all skills required for SPS (Tool and Hardware, IPC610, IPC620, J-STD, etc.)
Be fluent in all support software relevant to SPS operations.
Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
Read blue prints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronics theory and components.
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working independently, and with engineers when necessary.
Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
Assemble, test, and maintain test equipment or electronic systems according to engineering instructions.
Maintain inventory of test equipment and related documentation, such as calibration status, and location of equipment.
Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art equipment, tools or software by reading or attending, workshops or other training.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Electronics and Computer- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Testing and Processing- Knowledge of incoming test requirements, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effectiveness of the testing process.
Troubleshooting to Component Level- Identify which circuit component needs to be replaced or repaired in an electronic circuit.
Equipment Maintenance- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Equipment Selection- Determine the type of tools and equipment is needed to perform a job.
Time Management- Make best use of your time while on company time.
Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Judgment and Decision Making- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Operation Monitoring- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machines, environmental chambers, and electronic equipment is working properly.
Active Learning- Understanding the implication of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making.
Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Two year degree from and accredited Electrical Engineering Technical School
Fine manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to sit, stand, bend or walk for long periods of time
Ability to obtain and maintain a US government clearance
Warehouse and manufacturing floor
9/80 Monday through Thursday and every other Friday. Hours vary depending on shift: 1st 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM; 2nd 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM; 3rd 10:30 PM – 8:00 AM. Additional hours as needed.
