Summary: Designs custom semiconductor test interfaces as a member of the standard products engineering team. Utilizes Solidworks to model these assemblies and prepare detail drawings for fabrication. Works with quality and field engineers on RMAs, providing analysis and feedback for the customer through report generation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contactor and actuator design in Solidworks using approved technologies and methods.
Accurate preparation of drawings, BOM’s, ECN’s and supporting documentation related to new design release by following approved company design standards and processes.
Work with other engineers/departments as required to insure proper implementation of product design from conception through final assembly.
Provide customer support either directly or through Field Applications Engineering.
Troubleshoot customer applications either remotely, or directly as required.
Investigate customer RMA’s through lab investigation and analysis.
Prepare thorough reports for customers, including any supporting data gathered in the engineering lab.
Other tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:
B.S. degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
1-5 years design for manufacturing experience
Experience with Solidworks or another CAD software program
Familiar with Microsoft Office products
Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate effectively with both domestic and foreign colleagues/suppliers
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of part fabrication techniques and methods
Semiconductor/Electronics mechanical design experience is a plus
