Louis Berger, a WSP company, has an exciting and immediate opportunity for a Junior Drainage/Stormwater Civil Engineer to join the transportation team at its Morristown office. The Junior Drainage/Civil Engineer will have a crucial role handling drainage design, stormwater management, grading design, utility design, roadway design plans, preparation of Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plans, Land Use Permitting, and preparation of contract documents. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Providing technical support in hydrology and hydraulics engineering
Preparing permit applications in flood hazard area, storm water, and sediment erosion and sediment control
Utility and roadway design for transportation projects.
Conducting technical studies (field work may be required)
Performing surface and sub-surface hydraulic and hydrologic calculations
Preparing permit documents, engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and writing technical documents and proposals.
The successful candidate will have the following:
2-5 years of experience performing drainage design for transportation projects.
Competence in ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D/LDD and/or MicroStation V8i/InRoads, and be familiar with grading and earthwork concepts.
Preferred familiarity drainage design software such as HydroCAD Storm Sewers, StormCAD, WaterCAD, or AutoDesk or Bentley Storm and Sanitary.
Preferred familiarity with surface water hydrologic and hydraulic analyses software including HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow Hydrographs, Pond Pack, WMS and/or HydroCAD, EPA SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC GeoHMS, HEC GeoRAS, and SMS-RMA2.
