Lockheed Martin is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support the Gear Room and Processing areas at RMS Sikorsky’s Stratford, CT facility. The Gear Room manufactures precision machined components for a variety of military and commercial applications. The Gear Room is a fast paced work environment with a mix of legacy production and new developmental work.
The Associate Manufacturing Engineering will develop manufacturing processes to bring a part from raw material to finished asset, incorporating quality and test requirements as required. Liaison support for production parts on the shop floor will be required, including the authoring of work instructions, the evaluation of durable and perishable tooling, the investigation of part defects, and evaluation of process related issues. Use of statistical process control (SPC) and quality data will be used to make data driven decisions to impact the business, and frequent contact with Operations, Quality, and other Engineering teams will be required.
Occasional work on off-shifts or weekends may be required to support production schedules.
BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) with 0-2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Previous manufacturing or machining background a plus
2D and 3D modelling experience (CATIA preferred)
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience
Good communication and time management skills
