What are the qualifications to be considered for this role?

Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineeringwith an emphasis on Structures
Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design, and/or earthquake engineering
Revit, 3D modeling skills (Rhino, SketchUp, etc)
Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred
Proven interest in the built environment
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner
Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team

What would I do?

Contribute to progression and delivery of structural engineering projects
Undertake structural engineering design and calculations
Report findings and outcomes to other project team members
Participate in project meetings
Assist in documentation of structural engineering designs
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved

Established in 2010, BuroHappold’s Chicago office developed from specialized expertise in energy analysis and building physics to a comprehensive suite of engineering services and has quickly established a reputation of providing the smartest and most sophisticated solutions. Our work in the region currently includes the expansion of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the renovation of the Historic Book Tower and Buildings in Detroit, and the new Clifton Court building at the University of Cincinnati.
