Plascore is seeking a technical professional to join our team as a Machine Design Engineer. This position is an opportunity for an engineer to further his/her experience in the following: this position works closely with our engineering, purchasing, scheduling, shipping and manufacturing teams. The Machine Design Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the project from beginning to end. The position offers a fast pace environment with a cross between Machine Design Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer allowing for an individual to develop and utilize multiple skill sets within the same position.
Design specialized equipment, utilizing AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent
Complete machine designs from concepts provided; including sizing, selecting, and specifying machine components (pneumatic and mechanical) and assist in the documentation generation
Provide Capital Cost Targets and Timing
Source and procure components (mechanical, pneumatic, power transmission) within design parameters or build new equipment
Possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, within a team environment
Team player, must be able to work with other engineers, machinists, fabricators and other team members towards a common goal
Supervise assembly and participate in run-off trials
Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering field
Ability to read and interpret drawings and blue prints
Extensive experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
Full cycle experience in designing with sheet metal components, machined components, large and small weldments and assemblies
Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of technical drawings
Ability to successfully prioritize and manage large, complex projects, deadlines and tasks with little supervision in both a team and independent settings.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Outstanding organizational and time management sills
Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR Regulations. Therefore, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident ('Green Card').
