The Machine Maintenance Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding advanced surface mount electronic assembly equipment (SMT) including stencil printers, component replacement, AOI, offline loading stations and systems, reflow ovens, and through-hole technology equipment.
This position is 3rd shift: Sunday-Thursday, 11:00pm-7:30am
Install, maintain, and repair complex machine components and parts.
Diagnose complex problems, determine corrective action required, and take corrective action to ensure problem does not recur.
Perform complex troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems.
Consult with Mechanical Engineers to modify sketches or computer generated designs of machine components.
Train Production personnel on appropriate set-up procedures as needed.
Assist in the scheduling of maintenance and repair work to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s degree in a mechanical or technical field is highly preferred.
Four year state certificate apprentice program and journeyman license.
10+ years related experience; experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Good math skills, including knowledge of shop/mechanical mathematics.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action to solve them to prevent recurrence.
Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and production personnel.
Ability to work with electrical connections, pneumatic cylinders, and PLC controlled equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, maintenance instructions, and detailed procedure manuals.
Knowledge of and ability to follow safety regulations and practices.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, mostly local, as needed required (5%).
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk on a regular basis and occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to use close vision, color vision, and depth perception for extended periods.
Employee is regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts and at risk of electrical shock.
Employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme heat, and vibration; PPE, including respirator use, is occasionally required.
Noise level in work environment is generally moderate.
