Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Aerodynamics Performance Engineer in the St. Louis, MO area.
Boeing is recruiting for a mid-level Aerodynamics Performance Engineer to execute aero statement of work new product design, development and integration projects in the areas of Fixed Wing Aircraft and/or Missile Systems. The Flight Engineering Capability supports the business in all aspects of the product life cycle with aerodynamic engineering design, analysis, testing, integration, demonstration and certification. This position will serve as a member of a technical team of engineers in the areas of aerodynamic performance in the design and analysis of flight vehicles and their components.
Performs aerodynamic/aerothermodynamics design and analysis of flight vehicles to ensure that the vehicle meets cruise performance and overall mission performance requirements
Produce documentation including comprehensive vehicle aerodynamic performance reports and flight manual performance tables
Key contributor to developing new and improving existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost.
Conducts, coordinates and/or develops test requirements to meet test objectives using established processes.
Supports certification and qualification processes of the aerodynamic/ aero thermal characteristics of flight vehicles.
Assists in training others.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
3+ years of experience in aerodynamics performance engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active Top Secret Clearance
Flight Test experience
Wind tunnel experience
Experience with Flight manuals
Mission analysis experience
Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
