Position Purpose

Lead efforts to identify and implement best in class distribution and fulfillment solutions.
Increase Distribution throughout and flow through standard process and system development that supports the daily activities of shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Champions and drives the implementation of the Continuous Improvement culture for Distribution operations with meaningful business impact.
Provide engineering support to AmesburyTruth Regional Distribution Centers in Sioux Falls and Statesville with some assistance to other plants and 3PLs as needed.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Defining Engineered Labor Standards for new and existing processes within the distribution center and evaluating existing standards to ensure accuracy and adherences to SOPs.
Works closely with internal resources performing advanced data analytics, statistical analysis, labor modeling, space design, and determination of capacity and capital requirements.
Identifying opportunities for distribution improvement, determining root cause, and developing the business case for proposed solutions.
Design and assess process flows to achieve maximum labor productivity and efficiency.
Performing performance validations and analytical evaluations of operational capabilities including labor, equipment, throughput, and storage.
Defining and implementing process improvement initiatives that improve key distribution metrics.
Identification and integration of automation where benefit outweighs cost.
Identify ongoing continuous improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required training.
Develop custom presentations and demonstrations.
Initiating and managing capital projects for improvements or replacements.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Demonstrated ability to problem solve and collaborate in teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and analytical skills.
AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Strong knowledge of warehousing operations, fulfillments processes, and material handling solutions.
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Ability to organize and plan use of time and people effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications / Prior Experience

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or similar degree
Minimum 3 years of industrial engineering experience in distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
Experience with configuration, maintenance, and reporting of Labor Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
Knowledge of engineering optimization methods (Lean, Six Sigma) and standard project management.
Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Proven analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment / Other Requirements

Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, computer).
Must be able to talk/hear/sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to travel on occasion.
