Scope of Position:
Are you looking for a meaningful role where you have the ability to make an impact? As a Vibroacoustic Scientist/Engineer, you will be responsible for modeling of new processes and/or process conditions for improved product attributes or reduced cost for display glass and/or ceramic substrates and filters. You will have the opportunity to develop novel modeling/ analytical tools or utilize existing tools to gain fundamental understanding of underlying principles.
Utilizing vibroacoustic modeling to understand the product performance and response to various sources of excitations
Utilizing modeling such as FEA, BEM and SEA for product development, designs improvements, manufacturing processes, and failure analysis
Guide and recommend new capabilities or method developments related to mechanical testing and measurements
Lead and recommend product testing pertaining to product design and performance to meet qualification requirements from commercial, engineering manufacturing
Engage with the businesses as needed to help with addressing vibroacoustic concerns/questions from customers and other product engineering related problems
Writing technical reports, invention disclosures, & publications
Analyze problems and reduce them to mathematical models, carrying out experiments to validate models, deriving numerical and technological solutions and making recommendations
Required Years and Area of Experience:
We require a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil or related discipline. Bachelors will need 10+ years experience. We prefer 1+ years of experience with a MS or PhD.
Deep knowledge and a strong foundation in solid mechanics and a high level of expertise in numerical modeling.
Experience with computational modeling of vibro-acoustic problems, understanding of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in acoustics vibration, and shock analysis and design and test specification for wide applications.
This position requires excellent communication and social skills for working with globally distributed researchers, engineers in our commercial organizations, and customers.
Strong mathematical and programming skills in FEA, BEM and SEA.
Experience with process and product engineering
Knowledgeable about various materials test techniques
Ability to lead product performance data evaluations, experiments and data analysis - others

Hours of Work/Work Schedule/Flex-Time:
We typically work 8-5, Monday - Friday and do have Flex Time. Some projects may require additional hours.
