Application Engineer

Austin, TX

Kantar, a leading provider of media analytics and marketing accountability solutions for brand marketers, is eager to engage an experienced, creative, hardworking, and self-motivated Application Engineer with Dev Ops experience in a full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Become a vital part of the team and assist with new product planning, design and implementation
Help create and maintain the standards and procedures to promote application deployments across environments with minimal / no down time
Working with QA department to provide sign off and change management for production deployments
Working with Solution Architects and Lead Developers to design the implementation architecture for our solutions using IaaS / PaaS / SaaS cloud based capabilities
Working with Solution Architects and developers, trouble shoot any issues found in deployed systems.
Working with 3rd party IT providers to integrate their solutions with our own
Working with internal Compliance teams to ensure all data privacy and protection are part of the overall solutions in global context

Required Technology skills:
Azure and AWS Cloud Services including WepApps, , SQL Server Mgmt, Web Jobs Microservices and functions as well as Storage Accounts.
Windows and Azure Powershell
Agile development processes
Experience in migration of IIS/SQL .Net stack application to Azure PaaS/IaaS
Geo-Distributed data collection and traffic management
Understanding of local IIS (HA/Load balanced) implementations including CDN integration
Strong understanding of application and platform based security best practices including OWASP, ISO and GDPR
SDLC methodologies.
Atlassian Suite (Jira, BitBucket/GIT, Bamboo).
GIT source control and branch management
Experience with “Containerizing” applications with solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes.
IIS / Apache and Database deployments.
Understanding of REST API and other secure data transfers (testing and securing)
Basic understanding of Big Data system architecture/limitations
