Process Engineer with a wide breadth of background in the chemical manufacturing industry to lead process improvements. Candidate should be able to identify improvement projects based on conversations and various data platforms (SAP, work orders, DCS data, etc.) Ideal candidate will have a chemical background with mechanical aptitude. Job task include: 1. Work with product engineers to select process improvement projects that help increase product quality and/or product throughput.
These task should be measured by OEE increases.2. Review of current equipment with suggested improvements. Standard plant equipment includes: reactors, storage tanks, pumps, vacuum systems, heating and cooling units, etc. 3.
Reduction of wasted raw materials and products.4. Ability to solve problems, sometimes in the face of limited or vague information, that may affect multiple disciplines and departments. 5. Work with incident investigation teams on mitigating future safety and product concerns.
6. Mentor jr. process engineers. 7.
Provide plant and process troubleshooting skills to manufacturing assets ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum. 8. Participate in hazard studies and participate in process hazard reviews including carrying out risk assessments with assigned plant areas.The role requires engineering acumen to identify areas for improvement and to generate original thinking in design and development. The job holder is expected to approach tasks with creativity, and continual improvement.Should be a self starter with the ability to manage their time with minimal input from manager.
This position is part of the production team who's goal is to safely, and efficiently supply Croda's customers with the product they deserve. Communicates internally with other departments, other off-site discipline managers/engineers, suppliers, consultants, regulatory, and trade bodies.
